Yes, it takes up more space than pop-up hampers, but those pop-up hampers will be shot WAY before you’re done with college. Spend the extra few bucks, have a basket that will last beyond college, and have a handy way to move stuff and/or a makeshift bedside table (yes, I’ve done this).
